Šipovo is a small city in the Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Hercegovina. Šipovo region is mainly covered by mountains, but central part of the region is occupied by the Pliva and Janj valleys. Major mountains are Lisina 1335 m (north), Gorica 1267 m (east), Vitorog 1906 m (south) and Cardak 1452m (west). Region is very rich with water sources. There are two large rivers Pliva and Janj, three small rivers Sokocnica, Lubovica and Volarica, and a bunch of creeks of which most known is Glogovac. There are two lakes near the city: Olic Lake and Lake Djol.

Šipovo lies in the continental climatic zone with average annual temperature of 10°C, average summer temperature 20°C and average winter temperature of 0°C.
This region have rich history. There are many artifacts from the Roman empire, from the age when Šipovo was one of the two important Roman trade route towns.
Medieval fortress Soko Grad (Sokol) is also interesting place. It is located on the hill above river Soko?nica, west from town. Fortress is dated to 13th century.
One of the more visited historic places is also medieval monastery Glogovac.
However main tourist destinations and attractions are Pliva springs, fly fishing on Pliva and Janj, Janj canyon, Janjske otoke, Vagans Cave, rafting on Pliva, so as country tourism. There are few motels in the town but best experience is staying at village households.
Population of the Šipovo is around 16 000 persons.
